People love a connection to a large chain for many reasons, and even in the digital age, this does not change. There are millions of buyers in http://www.wal-mart.com. And while individuals can make money, usually they are bought or buying large companies flounder and bankruptcy. There is simply no how individuals can compete with large chains and brand names, except on e-bay, especially from large chains to get discounts on brand names, and therefore can sell at lower prices and attract more customers. Then they get tax benefits. Large companies continue to grow over the Internet age, and nobody can change that.
